Bad Shapes release self titled album

Hailing themselves as the “AV club of bands” Bad Shapes Self-Titled break out album is truly a unique listening experience. Somehow managing to evoke the feeling of seeing their instrumentals and effects, the album has so many fun features it’s hard to count. Any audiophile will enjoy hearing every intentional effect used to capture the different moments within. From the eclectic drumming of Peter Force to the echoed vocals of Ben Taylor, we really see huge variation in these guys. The interspersing of fitness gram pacer test clips on track “Pacer” is fantastically silly, and all the reverb on “Splinter” shows that the album has something for everyone who might be a fan of the post punk and shoegazey genres. Although they qualify themselves as somewhere in between post punk and post rock, songs like “Drone Mimic” reminisce of some classic late 90’s Midwest emo and there is even some twinkly guitar here and there. Bad Shapes Self Titled is out everywhere now on all streaming platforms so go check it out!
